Floral shirt crush

The cold is slowly settling in Paris, and I hope your sewing machines are running hot enough to keep you warm! This week I’m back to show you this lovely floral shirt, a Liberty shirt. These shirts that we love, which work perfectly today for both women and men. Great for a mid-season look, I’d been searching for a while for THE Liberty print in which I could see myself cutting my shirt. After 6 months of searching, I finally found my fabric at Tissu Market (Paris, 18th), a fabric from Liberty London.

For the pattern, this is the Johanna shirt by République du chiffon. Sewn here in size 36. I had already sewn this shirt with a basic cotton, and the result is just not the same. The proof is that I never showed it to you because it was so uninteresting, even though I had spent hours and hours on it… So if I have a little piece of advice, it would be to invest in quality fabric for sewing this shirt (you can also make a test version first).

I love the little rounded collar, the little purple flowers, and the olive-colored buttons on my new shirt.

Paris is getting cold. Wherever in the World you may be, if you are in a cold season, I hope your sewing machine is running and heating well enough to keep you warm 🙂 I’m coming to you this week to show this beautiful floral shirt, a Liberty print shirt. These type of prints have become really fashionable and can be worn by both men and women. I had been searching for a long time for the Liberty print in which I would sew my shirt, and I finally found this at Tissu Market (Paris, 18th), a fabric from Liberty London.

The pattern I’m using here is the Johanna pattern by République du chiffon. Sewn here in size 36. I had already sewn this pattern but using a poor coton fabric quality. The result was so poor that I never showed you the shirt, in spite of the fact that I had spent many hours on it… Anyways. So if I have a small piece of advice, it will be to choose a great quality fabric for your shirt (you might want to sew a test version before).

I love its rounded collar, its little purple flowers and lovely olive buttons…
