Keana Tropical

Have you ever fallen for a fabric that doesn’t inspire anyone else, but you’re the only one who firmly believes in its potential and what you can make of it? Well, that’s exactly the case with this blouse. One lunchtime, I popped into Toto for a “routine visit,” and I came across this fabric. I knew immediately what I was going to do with it. Once back at the office, I hurried to show it to my colleague XaviĂšre. She didn’t like it… She found it too gaudy and grandmotherly. I, on the other hand, LOVED it. Two days later, there was surprise and amazement when I walked into the office wearing my blouse!

– “Is that the fabric I saw?”

– “Yes, it is. It’s the fabric you saw.”

– “Holy cow!”

Lesson of the day: No matter how small it is, and even if you’re the only one who believes in it, believe in your dream.

The fabric is from Toto (Toto Montreuil, to be precise—they have a lighter version in shades of gray). For the pattern, I used the KEANA piped blouse from Named.

My gaudy blouse and me 😉

Have you ever experienced loving a fabric that everyone seems to dislike? As if you are the only crazy person who sees the potential in the fabric. Well, this is the case with my blouse today. At lunch break, I went to this fabric shop near work called Toto to pay a “random visit.” This fabric is one of the first things I saw. I immediately knew what I was going to do with it. So I got back to the office and showed it to my colleague. She hated it… She found it too gaudy and old-fashioned. I simply L-O-V-E it. Two days later, there was a big surprise on some faces when I entered the office with my blouse.

– “Is this the fabric I saw?”

– “Yes, this is the fabric you saw.”

– “Oh my!”

What I learned: Even if you are the only one believing in your dream, still BELIEVE in it.

As a pattern, I used the Keana Piped blouse by Named.

Me and my gaudy blouse 😉
