Little beauty bag

Hi beauties, I hope your week has started well. Today I’m talking about the Filigree pouch by Sewsweetness that I made using Wax fabric. This nice pouch pattern is unique for its quilted look and double compartment. I think it was the double compartment that immediately appealed to me because in the little makeup bag I take everywhere, the powder puff (which I use for my “facial touch-ups”) always gets everything else dirty. So a separate compartment for it was the best way to keep my kit clean.

The pattern includes 3 templates to make a small, medium, or large pouch (this one is the small size). The only modification I made, if I can call it that, is the type of zipper used: the pattern actually recommends using two plastic zippers in different colors, but here I opted for metal teeth, which gives it a different finish.

So, what do you think?

PS: To be honest, I didn’t find the pattern instructions very clear (in my opinion!). I won’t go into more detail because I’m in no position to criticize others’ work (especially when I can’t do the same!), but here are a few tips that should help: measurements are in inches; for the zipper on a size S pouch, since I couldn’t find the size recommended by the pattern, I used a European standard measuring 21 cm (full tape, or 18 cm if measuring only the teeth). Basically, the idea is for the zipper to go from one end of the curved part to the other; read the last 3 steps carefully and only keep the useful info; if you have any questions, don’t hesitate to ask!

Hi beauties I hope your week has started nicely. Today I will be talking about the Filigree double-zip pouch pattern from Sewsweetness that I made in this African print fabric. This lovely pouch pattern caught my attention thanks to its quilted aspect and it’s double-zip compartments that could allow me to keep my face powder away from all the rest (I’m sure you’ve already experienced the type of accident I am trying to avoid).

The pattern comes with three different pattern sizes: Small, Medium and Large (I made an S here). The only modification I brought is the type of zip I used. Pattern suggests to use two zips of two different colors. But I decided to use golden metallic zips for a beautiful finish.

So what do you think of this little makeup bag?
