Here we are in the final days of August; next week the children head back to school, and the autumn/winter collections are already taking over the shops. I don’t know about you, but I always have this feeling of not wanting summer to end, wanting to soak up every last ray of sunshine—even if it means chasing it elsewhere in September. As a result, I often spend August preparing my September holiday wardrobe, always with the challenge of having a 100% DIY suitcase.
One of the pieces in this 2015 sun-filled suitcase is this jersey dress, which is easy to make and, above all, incredibly comfortable. It is model #120 from Burda 03/2012, with the only modification here being the omission of the front opening. The fabric is an excellent jersey from Tissu Market. Next time, I’ll try the version with the front opening. This pattern is simple but great, even for making a Marcel tank top. Here we are now at the end on the month of august, meaning for my French folks that children are returning to school next week. In the shops you can sense the difference with the autumn and winter collections that are already here. At my side, at this period of the year I watch hopelessly days shorten and sunshine become less and less common. As I usually leave for a week or two in September, I often prepare my summer clothes in August with every year, the same challenge to leave on holidays with a 100% DIY suitcase.
