ENG – This Jersey Necklace is really easy to make. It also brings a beautiful touch to one’s final look. So don’t throw away your old T-shirts!
FR – Save that T-shirt that was destined for the bin!
ENG – Save that T-shirt that was on it’s way to the bin!
FR – Unstitch the collar and sleeves, and cut off the bottom hem. Then cut strips 1.5 cm – 2 cm wide across the width, meaning from the left side to the right side (from one hip to the other).
ENG – Unstich collar and sleeves, and cut of hemming, then cut long strips starting from the left to the right (from one hip to the other). The width should be around 1,5 cm- 2 cm.
FR – Take the strips one by one, grab the ends with each hand and pull. You will see the raw edges of the strips roll in on themselves. Divide the strips into 1/4 and 3/4. The 3/4 will form the necklace itself.
Now the serious business begins!
– The goal here is to form the circle (before wrapping). So take the 3/4 and tie the ends together one by one. – Then grab all the ends together with one hand, and with the other, take the remaining 1/4 and wrap/knot them firmly but with a nice finish. When you reach the end of a strip, take another and repeat the wrapping process.
– When you reach the end of the knotting, meaning when the stock of 1/4 strips is finished, try as best as you can to insert/hide the ends of the strips into the wrapping. (I used a not-too-sharp knife to do it hahaha!).
ENG – Take each strip, hold the ends and pull. The raw edges will roll and have a nicer finish. Devide the strips into 1/4 and 3/4. The 3/4 will be the necklace itself.
Now comes the serious part!
-Take the 3/4. Basically you will want to make the ends hold, therefore what you can do is to tie the ends together, one by one.
– Once this is done, hold firmly all ends together with one hand and with the other hand take about 2 to 3 strips at a time to wrap tightly and nicely the ends together.
– Tuck in the excess. (I used a knife to push the excess in hahaha!).
FR – And there you go!!!
ENG – Tadaaa!!!
DO IT YOURSELF!!!
