The eye represents visual perception, which is essential in design, architecture, and the visual arts. Herbert Beyer, a major Bauhaus graphic designer, used the image of the eye in several of his works, often in photo collages or posters.
As a side note, choosing the yellow thread took several days, as color perception varied depending on the weather and lighting conditions. The result of the weave, combining yellow, red, and black thread, is absolutely adorable.
This label is placed between two seams. On one side is the eye, and on the other is the delicate weave of the inscription “Work of Art.”

Bauhaus was a revolutionary art, design, and architecture school founded in Germany in 1919 by Walter Gropius. It became one of the most influential movements in modern design, rejecting the divide between artist and craftsman and embracing functionality and simplicity. Its approach is very interdisciplinary. Students at the Bauhaus school studied multiple disciplines: metalwork, weaving, architecture, painting, design, etc.
You will recognize Bauhaus with its clean lines (red, yellow, blue, but also black, white and grey) and the basic geometric shapes of its designs (circles, triangles, squares, and straight lines are key elements).
