Today, I decided to shoot at Franprix. My photographer and I walked in ‘chill’, as if we were in our parents’ store. But despite the nice weather, whether at home, in the street, or in a shop, I absolutely wanted to photograph my brand new jumpsuit, freshly sewn in this MAG-NI-FI-CENT fabric offered by mondepot.be
Oh, this fabric! Riopele Grijs (FURORE) was a pure pleasure to sew. When I received it in my mailbox and unboxed it, I knew a masterpiece was in the making. It’s funny because when you see and touch this fabric, you get the impression it’s a light, supple wool, and yet! It’s actually a blend of polyester, viscose, and elastane. I don’t think I’m done being surprised, because barely sewn, I’ve just fallen in love with this magnificent mint and neon Jacquard, ideal for a little spring/summer jacket, or a designer-style mini skirt, or even this other mauve and grey jacquard. In short… it promises great things!
For the pattern, I used the Butterick 3699 model. The pattern was designed to be very wide in the pants, but I reduced it considerably.
So girls, what’s happening with you? Ready for spring?!
Spring is here and this is the very first post of the season Youhouuuu!!!!!
This time I just decided to shoot in my local grocery store. My photographer and I just walked in, as if it were the shop of our parents. Actually with the nasty weather in Paris now, it was kind of difficult to find a nice and original place to shoot my brand new jumpsuit sewn in this MAG-NI-FI-CENT coton fabric offered by mondepot.be .
Let’s just stop for a while and focus on this fabric: Riopele Grijs (FURORE) is a pure sewing pleasure. When it arrived in my MB I just knew that my wardrobe was getting ready to welcome a special new-comer. This fabric is curious, all those who touched it and/or saw it, asked me why I had sewn a spring playsuit in wool. Actually it really looks and feels like light non-pricky wool, but is made out of a mix of polyester, viscose, and elastane. I recommend you having a look at the fabrics the shop has in stock. At the moment, you should not miss this mint and fluo Jacquard ideal for the new season, as well as this green and mauve Jacquard. Ummm…. looks like this season is going to be crazy!!!
Regarding the pattern, I used Butterick 3699 pattern. The pants were made to be very large, but I ended up reducing the width and shortening the length in order to rock it easy.
So what’s up at your side? Ready for this new season?!
