C’est en 1940 que le Teddy est apparu au USA. D’abord signe d’appartenance aux prestigieux campus am\u00e9ricains, cette veste \u00e0 la coupe large, aux manches en cuir, au corps en laine, avec une lettre brod\u00e9e sur le coeur a commenc\u00e9 \u00e0 se d\u00e9mocratiser en se r\u00e9inventant, et ce\u00a0d\u00e9sormais en affichant des coupes plus cintr\u00e9es et des mati\u00e8res diverses.<\/p>\n

C’est \u00e0 cette tendance que nous int\u00e9ressons aujourd’hui dans notre PetiteMaisonCouture. Comme vous pouvez le voir, j’ai tent\u00e9 moi aussi de jouer avec ce mod\u00e8le en utilisant un tissu \u00e0 motif imprim\u00e9, un imprim\u00e9 comment dire… tr\u00e8s imprim\u00e9! \u00c7a tombait bien, mon amie Caro adore le Wax. Alors quand vient le moment de coudre pour elle, c’est de la pure joie!\u00a0Prenant en consid\u00e9ration\u00a0la tendance actuelle, les tissus que j’avais \u00e0 ma disposition, la calorim\u00e9trie personnelle de mon amie, et bien sur le fait qu’elle soit une femme de style (=intemporalit\u00e9) j’ai tout de suite pench\u00e9 pour un Teddy sur la base du patron Donnez-moi un M de Aime comme Marie Voici les 2 modifications majeures apport\u00e9es: 1.\u00a0Manches raccourcies pour en faire un v\u00eatement facilement portable en \u00e9t\u00e9, et sous un manteau en hivers. 2.\u00a0Ajout d’une doublure avec une poche passepoil\u00e9e int\u00e9gr\u00e9e \u00e0 la doublure, suffisamment grande pour y glisser son t\u00e9l\u00e9phone portable, sa CB, et son gloss!<\/p>\n

Je trouve que ce Teddy lui va parfaitement, comme quoi le wax qui est taggu\u00e9 \u00ab\u00a0Black fashion\u00a0\u00bb sied \u00e0 tous, il suffit de tons de couleurs qui nous flattent le teint.<\/p>\n

The Varsity jacket trend<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

\u00a0It’s in the 40’s that the Varsity jacket appeared for the first time in the US. With its\u00a0leather sleeves and woolen bodice, it’s large cut and it embroidered letter on the heart, this jacket was a sign that one\u00a0belongs to one of the country’s prestigious universities. Little by little this jacket started becoming like a trend as it became more and more accessible. The cuts and designs also started changing creating more fitted versions for women.<\/em><\/p>\n

Today in our PetiteMaisonCouture, I have also tried to play with this trend using a printed fabric, kind of really printed! Actually my friend Caro’s birthday was coming, and one thing I know is that she loves African prints. So I usually have a global Idea of her birthday presents, but I am never 100% sure of the form this present would take. So taking into account the current fashion trends, her personal colorimetric shades, and the fabrics that I had in my stash, I immediately went for this teddy pattern based Aime comme Marie’s Teddy jacket. I Therefore cut my pattern in size 36, and used a light whool fabric for the collar. Here are the main modifications I made: 1.\u00a0Shortening the sleeves. \u00a02.\u00a0Adding a lining with a welt pocket cut in the lining for her phone, her credit card\u00a0and her gloss!<\/em><\/p>\n

I think that the fabric used here \u00a0brings out the blues of her eyes and her blond hair. African prints are often tagged as \u00ab\u00a0black fashion\u00a0\u00bb, but in reality it can suit every single person. One needs to choose the type of colors that flatters the skin tone, hair and eyes.<\/em><\/p>\n
