Cette jupe a \u00e9t\u00e9 en quelques sortes mon premier masterpiece!
\nEn effet mon amie Caroline est l’une des personnes qui m’a le plus inspir\u00e9e et encourag\u00e9e \u00e0 me lancer dans cette aventure cr\u00e9ative. Elle a \u00e9galement \u00e9t\u00e9 celle qui m’a gentiment dit d’arr\u00eater de coudre mes Dust-bags pour affronter la cr\u00e9ation de vrais v\u00eatements.<\/p>\n

Ainsi le jour o\u00f9 je me suis sentie pr\u00eate \u00e0 coudre quelque chose de correcte pour quelqu’un, j’ai donc d\u00e9cid\u00e9 de lui coudre une jupe en Wax hollandais* .<\/p>\n

Le choix du tissu:<\/strong> En \u00e9t\u00e9 2011, Caroline m’avait montr\u00e9 une collection de G\u00e9rard Darel, collection dite ethnique car r\u00e9alis\u00e9e avec du tissu \u00ab\u00a0ethnique\u00a0\u00bb (vous avez sans doute connu cette p\u00e9riode o\u00f9 plusieurs cr\u00e9ateurs et maisons de couture adoptaient ce tissu). En regardant de plus pr\u00e8s le magazine, je me suis rendu compte que l’un des tissus utilis\u00e9 par le cr\u00e9ateur pour de nombreuses pi\u00e8ces \u00e9tait \u00a0un grand classique du Wax hollandais appel\u00e9 \u00ab\u00a0Congr\u00e8s\u00a0\u00bb. C’est donc ce Wax hollandais que j’ai utilis\u00e9 pour la r\u00e9alisation de la jupe \u00e0 Caroline.<\/p>\n

La R\u00e9alisation:<\/strong> Pas du tout compliqu\u00e9e, d’autant plus que les lecteurs des \u00ab\u00a0Hors-s\u00e9rie Burda couture facile\u00a0\u00bb ont tr\u00e8s souvent droit \u00e0 des explications d\u00e9taill\u00e9es et imag\u00e9es. Le seul c\u00f4t\u00e9 technique qui puisse faire peur, mais en r\u00e9alit\u00e9 il n’en n’est rien, r\u00e9side dans les plis qui cr\u00e9ent l’aspect bouffant caract\u00e9risant cette jupe.<\/p>\n

R\u00e9sultat:<\/strong> Caroline est juste magnifique dans sa jupe.<\/p>\n

*Le<\/em><\/strong> Wax Hollandais:<\/strong> Tissu ethnique en toile de coton pris\u00e9 en Afrique, origine Hollande. Je ferai un article sur ces tissus car li\u00e9s \u00e0 une grande histoire et faisant parti d’un riche patrimoine culturel.<\/i><\/span><\/p>\n

This skirt is based on patern 3A of the 2012 spring-summer Burda easy sewing.<\/p>\n

I consider this skirt as my first masterpiece, as it was the first \u201ctechnical\u201d project I made. My friend Caroline is one of the people that inspired me and encouraged\u00a0 me the most in this creative adventure. She was the one persuading me to stop sewing dust bags and start some \u201cTrue\u201d sewing (hahaha!)<\/p>\n

Therefore the day I felt capable of sewing something decent and correct for my friend, I decided to make her this skirt with a Vlisco* fabric.<\/p>\n

About the fabric\u00a0: <\/b>Caroline once showed items that Gerard Darel (european designer) had designed using African prints for their spring and autumn collection. <\/b>When looking closely at the magazine, I found out that the fabric used \u00a0by the designer for many of the items were made out of classic Vlisco fabrics\u00a0 (I recognized one of them. In fact being an African, many classic Vlisco fabrics remind me of my grandmothers, mum or aunts who used to wear them to special functions.<\/p>\n

About the realization:<\/b>\u00a0I got a little stressed when i was making the pleats; for some reason I got the impression that I had gotten something wrong. But is was OK. The easy sewing series of Burda are very good for beginners as every step is illustrated. The only technical part is the pleats on the sides.<\/p>\n
