As for me, I’m eagerly awaiting my vacation, but in the meantime I’m showing you a little surprise top that will be slipping into my suitcase this summer. I say surprise because initially this lovely summer tank top wasn’t planned in my To-Do list of outfits to make for my personal S/S 2016 collection. However, since the release of the Louise Top pattern, the latest from République du Chiffon, plans have changed a bit. And if I had to choose just one garment to take with me, it would be this one (yes indeed! even if it means going bare-bottomed!)

Louise: a fun pattern to sew and super practical for your little fabric remnants that you keep preciously. Here I used a piece of Liberty London fabric less than a meter with a narrow width (ref. Alma D Tana Lawn) purchased at the Liberty store in London on Regent Street. These fabrics are undeniably comfortable and easy to sew. I decided to add little buttons to highlight the collar, which can go unnoticed with these prints. As for the pattern, a République du Chiffon standard: Clear instructions and impeccable results. Cutting and sewing completed in 2h30. Proof: Another one already under the presser foot!

PS: My skirt is a DIY made with a single piece of fabric. I’ll tell you about it soon 🙂

Well hello to y’all beauties!

Hope you are all doing well whether you are on holidays or at work. At my side I can’t wait to leave! But while waiting here is a little surprise top that is finding its way to my suitcase this summer. A surprise because initially this simple but beautiful summer top wasn’t in my sewing ToDo list for this summer. However since the release of the Louise pattern, République du Chiffon‘s very last pdf pattern, If I had to leave on holidays with only one item it would be her! (…Yes I know I will be half naked).

Louise is a friendly pattern. Easy to sew and a practical way to use your precious little yards of fabric. I used a piece of Liberty fabric l got purchased in London in the Liberty London store on Regent Street (pattern ref. Alma D Tana Lawn). These fabrics are comfortable and are easy to sew.
