It’s an ideal project for beginners. At first glance, you might think it’s a dress, but it’s actually a top and a skirt.

The top is a raglan sleeve T-shirt, a pattern from Hey June that I’m so glad I found. I’ve already made it here. There’s only one modification I make every time: widening the neckline while keeping that lovely curve. I always make it in size M. The skirt is a super simple DIY I used to do when I first started and didn’t know how to trace a pattern. Basically: 2 rectangles, an elastic waistband, and voilà! (more details here). You could also choose to lengthen the T-shirt to make it a dress instead of having two separate pieces. Personally, I preferred making a set because I feel it’s easier to wear to work than a dress (I was afraid it might be too form-fitting).

The fabric is a wool jersey from Tissu Market. They have superb quality fabrics. It’s true that their prices are relatively high—here it was €30 per meter of jersey—but the quality is amazing!

Today I’m introducing my new Friday wear. The only modification I always make is widening the collar, but I always keep its beautiful O-shape. The size used here is M. The skirt is a super easy project that I used to make when I didn’t know how to read a pattern: 2 rectangles and 1 elastic band at your waist and you are good to go! However, you might prefer to only sew the top and lengthen it to get a dress. I personally thought that a co-ord would be neater for work.

The fabric is a wool jersey from Tissu Market. Their fabrics are of great quality even though they cost quite a bit (€30 per meter for the jersey used here). However, you can be sure of the quality!

STYLE REVIEW

Jacket: Ecko

Top and bottom: DIY

Shoes: Garrice

Today I’m presenting my latest Friday wear.
