After a few weeks of flagging energy\u2014and above all, an unhealthy knock-off of a Sess\u00f9n pair of trousers\u2014I had to come back strong, just to prove to myself that my creative spark hadn\u2019t been completely buried under the stress of Parisian life.
\nAnd BiiiMM!! I didn\u2019t miss: I whipped up a reversible dress based on pattern 113 from the February 2014 Burda.

\nFabric choice:<\/strong> I used an azure-blue fabric I\u2019d fallen for a few months ago. When I read the instructions for making dress 113, I realized it needed to be lined. That\u2019s when I got the idea to line it with a fabric scrap that had been lying around for months and months. It\u2019s actually the same fabric I used to make my friend Caro\u2019s jacket. At first, I planned to line the whole thing with that fabric, but since there wasn\u2019t enough, I ended up finishing it off with the main fabric… When I see the result, I tell myself: “good thing there wasn\u2019t enough fabric!” <\/p>\n

Making it:<\/strong> Nice, but it annoys me a bit to sew the same thing twice (well yes, it\u2019s two dresses sewn right sides together). But hey… it had to be done, it\u2019s done, and I\u2019m happy!<\/p>\n

The result:<\/strong> Good. It\u2019s a bit loose and looks like a maternity dress, which is kind of funny. Okay, I\u2019ll share a little secret: I tried stuffing rags around my belly to see what it would look like\u2014it was super cute and funny at the same time. LOL! But while I\u2019m waiting for motherhood, I think I\u2019ll take it in at the sides to make it less loose. <\/p>\n

Azure and Reverso! after a few weeks of loss of rotor and especially a noxious counterfeit of Sessun, I had to come back with force and determination, at least to prove to myself that my creative spirit had not been totally drowned in the Parisian stress. BaMM! this is when the reversible dress comes on stage, based on pattern 113 of the February 2014 Burda magazine. <\/p>\n

About the fabric:<\/strong> I used a fabric I had bought a few months ago, (I had fallen in love with the color). When reading the indications for dress 113, I figured out that I had to line the dress. This is when I had the idea to use an old piece of frabric I wanted to get rid of (tired of seing it around. It was also taking too much space – Yea when you no longer want something you find excuses to get rid of it). By the way this is the same fabic I used for the Jacket of my friend Caro. At the beginning I wanted to use the african fabric to line the entire dress, but the fabric was not enough… And it’s good thing that it was not enough! <\/p>\n

The realization:<\/strong> Cool, But I was not really excited about the fact of sewing a same dress twice (yes, because two dresses sewn one against the other). But anyway I a now Happy and that’s the most important! <\/p>\n

The result:<\/strong> Good. The dress is a little broad it kind of looks like a maternity dress. Let me share a little secret here: I tried it on and put some clothes on my belly to see what it would look like to be pregnant in it. It was really cute but funny hehehe!
