The #Hotpockets! skirt is based on the pattern of skirt Burda 126, from 05\/2011 (Thanks to Anna for sending me her magazine from Marseille!):<\/p>\n

So… I first saw this skirt at Jolies bobines<\/a>… And as you can see, this is a certified copy (Jolies bobines, please forgive me for this sin). I don’t know what it is with this skirt, but as soon as I saw it 6 months ago, I thought IT’S YOU!!! There’s something about this skirt. I don’t know what, but there’s something. <\/p>\n

About the fabric:<\/strong> This is where all my dilemma started. To be honest, this is the second skirt I’ve made, having completely failed at the first attempt. I had gone and bought some kind of brown gabardine… so I won’t tell you what it looked like when the skirt was finished… I had this kind of big thing around my waist, like a parachute. Seriously. It was just awful! It kind of reminded me of my misadventure with the Elisalex Remix<\/a> skirt. But since I really wanted this skirt with pockets, I didn’t stop there. I went back hunting, this time to come home with a very light cotton, actually a bit too light! <\/p>\n

About the realization:<\/strong> It was fun though. I made the skirt a bit shorter than the original pattern. And for the assembly… You had to think about it! These pattern makers are such engineers! <\/p>\n

Result:<\/strong> Correct. But next time I’ll choose a slightly heavier cotton. But for this time, with the parachute incident… sorry but I was just too scared to try anything heavier. <\/p>\n

So let talk a bit about this skirt\u2026 I first saw it at Jolies bobine’s<\/a>\u2026 As you can see, this is a certified copy of her skirt (Jolies bobines, please forgive me for this sin). I do not know what is happening between this skirt and I, but I am just fond! There is something in this skirt, I don’t know what but there is something! <\/p>\n

About the fabric:<\/b> It all started here! To be honest this is the second skirt I have made using this pattern, as the first one was a complete failure! I had bought some kind of light brown gabardine, not that light\u2026 so you can imagine when the skirt was done\u2026 I had this kind of big parachute hanging around my waist. Seriously! It was awful. It kind of reminded me of my misadventure with my Elisalex Remix<\/a> skirt. However, as I was really keen on having my skirt with large pockets, it did not stop me! I went immediately back, hunting for a LIGHT cotton fabric, I came back with a very light one indeed! <\/p>\n

About the realization:<\/strong> It was kind of fun. I shortened the skirt, making it shorter than the original pattern. Regarding the assembly of the various pieces, I would not have thought of it by myself! These pattern makers are truly ingenious! <\/p>\n

The result:<\/strong> Correct. However next time I will choose a heavier cotton fabric. Just slightly heavier. Sorry but for this time the parachute experience just freaked me out. <\/p>\n
