I don&#8217;t know what it is with this skirt, but as soon as I saw it 6 months ago, I thought IT&#8217;S YOU!!! There&#8217;s something about this skirt. I don&#8217;t know what, but there&#8217;s something.    <\/p>\n<p><strong>About the fabric:<\/strong> This is where all my dilemma started. To be honest, this is the second skirt I&#8217;ve made, having completely failed at the first attempt. I had gone and bought some kind of brown gabardine&#8230; so I won&#8217;t tell you what it looked like when the skirt was finished&#8230; I had this kind of big thing around my waist, like a parachute. Seriously. It was just awful! It kind of reminded me of my misadventure with the <a href=\"http:\/\/lapetitemaisoncouture.wordpress.com\/2013\/08\/25\/la-jupe-elisalex-patron-by-hand-london\/\">Elisalex Remix<\/a> skirt. But since I really wanted this skirt with pockets, I didn&#8217;t stop there. I went back hunting, this time to come home with a very light cotton, actually a bit too light!       <\/p>\n<p><strong>About the realization:<\/strong> It was fun though. I made the skirt a bit shorter than the original pattern. And for the assembly&#8230; You had to think about it! These pattern makers are such engineers!  <\/p>\n<p>~~~~~~~~~~<\/p>\n<p><strong>Result:<\/strong> Correct. But next time I&#8217;ll choose a slightly heavier cotton. I do not know what is happening between this skirt and I, but I am just fond! There is something in this skirt, I don&#8217;t know what but there is something!  <\/p>\n<p><b>About the fabric:<\/b> It all started here! To be honest this is the second skirt I have made using this pattern, as the first one was a complete failure! I had bought some kind of light brown gabardine, not that light\u2026 so you can imagine when the skirt was done\u2026 I had this kind of big parachute hanging around my waist. Seriously! It was awful. It kind of reminded me of my misadventure with my <a href=\"http:\/\/lapetitemaisoncouture.wordpress.com\/2013\/08\/25\/la-jupe-elisalex-patron-by-hand-london\/\">Elisalex Remix<\/a> skirt. However, as I was really keen on having my skirt with large pockets, it did not stop me! I went immediately back, hunting for a LIGHT cotton fabric, I came back with a very light one indeed!      <\/p>\n<p><strong>About the realization:<\/strong> It was kind of fun. I shortened the skirt, making it shorter than the original pattern. Regarding the assembly of the various pieces, I would not have thought of it by myself! These pattern makers are truly ingenious!   <\/p>\n<p>~~~~~~~~~~<\/p>\n<p><strong>The result:<\/strong> Correct. However next time I will choose a heavier cotton fabric. Just slightly heavier.
