After a few weeks of relaxing, I’m back \ud83d\ude42 with blouse pattern #115 from the 04\/2014 issue of Burda. I don’t know what it is about this top. But from the day I saw it, I fell completely in love, determined to make it in several different fabrics for spring.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

Choosing the fabric:<\/b> This time I didn’t let the opportunity slip away: after hesitating over a Yves Saint Laurent wool fabric and deeply regretting it, I went on a hunt for quality fabric because I really wanted this top to be a success. That’s how I came back with a 3-meter remnant of white cotton from Yves Saint Laurent tucked under my arm. Now, mind you, it wasn’t about buying a brand just for the sake of the name; it was more about choosing a brand to guarantee a high-quality finish. <\/span>
In the meantime, I still had the courage to test it out on a poor-quality fabric. I find that the finish just isn’t the same. <\/span> <\/span>

The construction:<\/b> This project is suitable for beginners. Through this project, I also learned how to sew a mitered corner, which was a great technical addition. In fact, I’ve decided to learn a new technique with every project. As they say: “Practice makes perfect.” <\/span> <\/span>

The result:<\/b> A simple and original spring blouse. The YSL version is, as they say, “clean.” It has a lovely drape and a neat finish. The olive version isn’t bad either. <\/span>
I recently bought some Chambray to make a version in that too, but well, once the excitement for this top passed… I decided to let it go and create something even more original with that fabric… Stay tuned \ud83d\ude09 <\/span>

This top is based on pattern #115 of the 04\/2014 Burda magazine.<\/span> <\/span>
I do not know what this top has done to me! Ever since the first day I saw the image on the Burda preview, I went crazy! Determined to make it in different colors for spring. <\/span> <\/span>

About the fabric:<\/b> After hesitating on a Yves Saint Laurent wool fabric that I ended up not taking and regretting, this time I saw a white Yves Saint Laurent cotton fabric. No need to tell you that it headed directly in my shopping basket (actually no. it ended under my arm as I don’t shop with a basket lol). Please note that I am not the kind of person who buys a brand just to have a brand. I rather go for brands because of the quality of the fabric, thus, the result of the garment. <\/span>
I had the courage to pre-sew the top in a cheap fabric. You will see that the result is not the same. <\/span> <\/span>

About the construction:<\/b> This project is suitable for beginners. I learned with this project how to sew a corner seam. I have also decided to try my best to learn a new technique in every new project. <\/span>

The Result:<\/b> A simple and original spring top. The YSL white version is neat and charming. The other version is.. not bad.<\/span> <\/span>
