Today is December 1st and it’s finally FREEZING!!!! (finally?!). Until now I was going out with my light jackets, my little Bernadette<\/a>, with no scarf, no tights… just taking it easy… But today in Paris, the temperature dropped drastically. For me that’s not bad news: I had just finished my new 100% wool coat. <\/p>\n

This is my favorite coat pattern. I find it fits perfectly with my style in general. This pattern is model #102 from Burda 08\/2010. It’s actually the first coat I ever made for myself, I was so happy…! At the time I made it in navy blue with no collar<\/a> (I didn’t know how to make one back then), with no lining (didn’t know how to do that either hehe!). This coat followed me everywhere, until the day… I lost it! I can’t tell you what a drama that was at home: I didn’t want to eat, drink, or sew. It was my very first coat :'(… But hey! the good thing about this story, and this is what makes DIY so charming, is that I could make another one \ud83d\ude42 <\/p>\n

While waiting to sew it again in blue, I made it this time in an ‘olive green’ wool that I bought in January 2014 at Gentleman des tissus (I went there two weeks ago and they still had some). This time I added a collar. I didn’t add any lining inside and it’s perfect that way because it’s much cozier. I finished the interior seams with a contrasting bias binding. <\/p>\n

Today is December 1st and winter is finally here (did I say finally?). Until yesterday I was still going out with my short light jackets, my Bernadette<\/a>, with no scarf and no tights… just taking it easy. However today the temperature in Paris fell really low. But no worries, that was not bad news for me as I just finished sewing my new 100% pure wool winter coat, and was just waiting to try it on outside. <\/em><\/p>\n

This is my favourite coat pattern as it suits my style in general. This is pattern #102 from the 08\/2010 Burda Mag. I based myself on this to sew my very first coat, and was happy like a fly! I had sewn it in a comfy  dark blue wool fabric with no collar<\/a> (I did not know how to sew one at that time). It had no lining (did not know how to sew that as well hehe!). The coat was following me everywhere until the day it got lost! I dare not tell you: I did not want to eat, did not want to drink, did not want to sew, I just wanted my coat back :(. Anyway the good news in this story, and this is what makes DIY such a great art, is that I could sew myself another one \ud83d\ude42 <\/em><\/p>\n
