Alors! Je ne sais m\u00eame pas par o\u00f9 commencer…<\/p>\n

Ceci est un joli d\u00e9fi que je vous pr\u00e9sente ici. Parti d’une id\u00e9e simple mais aboutie sur un r\u00e9sultat plut\u00f4t sympa.<\/p>\n

C’est l’histoire du fauteuil Po\u00e4ng venu de chez Ikea, mais qui n’avait visuellement\u00a0pas sa place dans le salon qui l’a adopt\u00e9. L’id\u00e9e \u00e9tait de faire de lui le roi des lieux…<\/p>\n

Tout commence avec un challenge de d\u00e9coration d’un int\u00e9rieur tout neuf, car nouvel appartement livr\u00e9. L’id\u00e9e \u00e9tant de \u00a0donner \u00e0 cet appartement un int\u00e9rieur chaleureux, cool et lumineux. Les tons de couleurs choisis: gris et jaune. Un tour chez le g\u00e9ant su\u00e9dois: retour avec une panoplie de meubles entre autre un canap\u00e9 d’angle gris et un joli meuble laqu\u00e9 jaune. Jusque-l\u00e0 tout va bien. Sauf qu’une fois tous les colis d\u00e9ball\u00e9s et mont\u00e9s il y avait ce fauteuil Po\u00e4ng qui ne semblait pas trop \u00eatre \u00e0 sa place au vue de sa couleur. \u00a0J’ai donc pens\u00e9 dans un premier temps \u00e0 le peindre avec une peinture sp\u00e9ciale textile. Mais id\u00e9e tr\u00e8s vite abandonn\u00e9e. Ensuite l’id\u00e9e de coudre une housse en remplacement de la housse d’origine \u00e9tait ce qui me semblait le plus appropri\u00e9. Mais \u00e9tait-ce faisable? J’avais le choix entre coudre une housse \u00e0 l’identique de la housse d’origine (c’est \u00e0 dire avec deux compartiments deux fermetures \u00e9clairs, et le petit repose t\u00eate), ou coudre une grande housse genre cache-mis\u00e8re, qui couvrirait joliment le tout.<\/p>\n

La premi\u00e8re option \u00e9tait \u00e9videmment la plus id\u00e9ale, mais le choix d\u00e9pendrait justement du niveau de difficult\u00e9. Regardons cela de plus pr\u00e8s:<\/p>\n

\nThis is a beautiful challenge that I am presenting here. It all started from a simple idea but ended in a cool result.<\/i><\/p>\n

This is the story of the Po\u00e4ng couch purchased at Ikea, but which did not look ok in the living room that adopted it. I gave a little help here to turn this couch into the king of the area…<\/i><\/p>\n

All started with this home staging challenge. Actually this is a brand new apartment that had just been purchased, so the place was empty with basic white walls. The idea was to redesign and decorate. We are focusing here on the living room with color Grey and Yellow chosen for the interior. We head to the Swedish mega-store and come back with different furniture including a grey angle chair and a yellow TV furniture. Till now all is well. Only that once all the furniture had be unwrapped and assembled, we find ourselves with this cream-ish chair, that does not really have anything to do with the rest. That is when I told myself that something had to be done. In the beginning I thought of painting the cushion cover, but I ended up not wanting to go through all that hassle. Then I thought of sewing a different cushion that could replace the original one. But could this be easily done? I told myself that if it was too difficult I would just sew a basic cover with no zip or anything, and just smuggle the cushion in it.<\/i><\/p>\n

The first option was the most ideal. However all depended on the level of difficulty. Let’s look at this closely:<\/i><\/p>\n

J’ai not\u00e9: pr\u00e9sence de mousse de rembourrage, molleton, 2 compartiments, 2 fermetures, du biais. Une face A. form\u00e9e \u00a0par seule pi\u00e8ce, et une face B. constitu\u00e9e de trois pi\u00e8ces. Pr\u00e9sence \u00e9galement de Velcro pour maintenir la housse et son rembourrage \u00e0 la structure en bois.
\nEn v\u00e9rit\u00e9 une fois que j’avais compris comment le tout \u00e9tait assembl\u00e9, je me suis rendue compte qu’il j’agissait en v\u00e9rit\u00e9 de coudre une grande trousse avec deux compartiments. Ce qui me fait dire ceci: \u00ab\u00a0Qui peut coudre une trousse… peut coudre cette housse!\u00a0\u00bb<\/p>\n

\nOk. Alors maintenant que j’\u00e9tais plus ou moins s\u00fbre de mon coup, ma folie imaginative qui, avouons le s’\u00e9tait mise totalement \u00e0 l’\u00e9cart le temps de calculs et de d\u00e9cisions s\u00e9rieux, commen\u00e7ait \u00e0 sortir tout doucement sa t\u00eate de l’eau en reprenant ses fonctions de directeur artistique, notamment lorsqu’est venu le moment de: CHOISIR LE TISSU!<\/p>\n

Le choix du tissu: C’est le moment que j’aime le plus dans tout projet impliquant du textile. Rappelez-vous du fil conducteur: Un s\u00e9jour gris et jaune. Le fauteuil devait donc suivre ce rythme, MAIS je comptais lui donner une touche de peps, joie, cr\u00e9ativit\u00e9, style, et modernit\u00e9. Un tour rapide sur le site d’IKEA pour voir la panoplie de tissu d’ameublement disponible, et BINGO! Un nom: F\u00e4rgkulla<\/a>. Exp\u00e9dition flash chez Ikea. ENG –\u00a0<\/b>I took note of the following: foam cushioning, batting, 2 compartments, 2 zips, bias binding. Side A. formed with only 1 piece, side B. formed with 3 pieces. I also noted the presence of velcro that maintained the cushion to the wooden structure.
\nHonestly once I understood how everything was assembled, I realized that it was like sewing a big pencil case with two compartments. And this makes me say the following: \u00ab\u00a0who can sew a pencil case, can sew this cushion cover\u00a0\u00bb<\/i><\/p>\n

Are you still with me?
\nOk. So now that I was more or less sure, my imaginative craziness that had till now found a hiding place, started stepping out slowly. It started taking its responsibilities of artistic director, especially when came the moment to CHOOSE THE FABRIC!<\/i><\/p>\n

Choosing the fabric: This is the moment I like the most in any fabric based project. You remember the main idea? A grey and yellow living room. The chair should also follow this theme however I wanted it to be pepsy, joyful, creative, and modern. A quick tour on the idea website, and bingo! F\u00e4rgkulla<\/a> was it’s name. Let’s see how the colors match…<\/i><\/p>\n

\nLe test avait l’air ok. On pouvait \u00e0 pr\u00e9sent commencer la gros du travail, c’est \u00e0 dire peindre le meuble et coudre la housse.<\/p>\n

Au sujet de la peinture du fauteuil, il a fallu poncer avec du papier de verre avant la pose de deux couches de peinture. Ici j’utilise la peinture Gris chrome effet m\u00e9tallis\u00e9 de Ripolin.<\/a> Je l’avais d\u00e9j\u00e0 utilis\u00e9e pour customiser la table basse de ce m\u00eame salon.
\nLe r\u00e9sultat est lisse, brillant et satin\u00e9, exactement ce qu’il faut pour rester dans les tons de gris tout en apportant une texture diff\u00e9rente.<\/p>\n

ENG –<\/b> The test seemed ok. \u00a0I could now start painting the wooden structure and sewing the cover.
\nRegarding the paint, the reference is Ripolin’s Gris chrome effet m\u00e9tallis\u00e9<\/a>. I had already used it to paint the sturdy table. I sanded the wood before applying 2 coats of paint.
\nThe result is sleek and smooth, and is an appropriate color that stays in the color scheme, but at the same time brings its own bright touch.<\/i><\/p>\n
